It was built by Jewish families who traded and produced wine. By the millennium, the condition of the building had deteriorated dangerously, but reconstruction of the synagogue began in 2000 at the initiative of the Jewish Heritage Grant program at the World Monuments Fund in New York. The renovated building was delivered in 2004.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><strong>Roman Catholic Church<\/strong><\/b><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The present Roman Catholic church of M\u00e1d was built between 1521-26. At first, it was only a solitary watchtower, later a church was added to the tower. According to the engraved date in the stone tablet above the entrance, it was presumably consecrated in honor of the Holy Trinity in 1653.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><strong>Reformed Church<\/strong><\/b><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Reformed church was built in the early 1800s in a classicizing late Baroque style. However, it could only last for a few years, as it burned down in 1852. The church was rebuilt by 1857. In the 1980s, the exterior facade was renovated, the tower was repaired and repainted. The monument church has 400 seats. The tower is 28 meters high and has 2 bells.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b><strong>R\u00e1k\u00f3czi-Aspremont Mansion<\/strong><\/b><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The mansion adorns the main street of M\u00e1d and was built in a magnificent Baroque style, probably in the 16th and 17th centuries. That time the building functioned as a one-storey, simple outbuilding. Eventually, it was grown into an aristocratic mansion. Thanks to Julianna R\u00e1k\u00f3czi and her husband, Count Ferdinand Gobert of Aspremont, the building reached its present form by the early 1700s. Today it is home to the Barta Cellar. The owners renovated the building having the protection of this monument in mind.
